Behold the Savior

How great it’s been, for the last two Sundays, to focus on the meaning of Christmas Carols through the preaching of God’s Word! I’m so thankful to God for a Pastor who approaches weekly sermons creatively and carefully. This coming Sunday, our church family will have the opportunity to encounter and respond to Biblical truth in song for the entire service, under the leadership of our Worship Choir, Vocal Team, Worship Band, and AV Team.

Behold the Savior is our Special Advent Worship Service, this Sunday morning. Beholding Jesus doesn’t just mean seeing Him, it means to perceive ALL that He is, to apprehend why he came, and to gaze upon Him in adoration. This starts with examining the big picture of God’s activity including creation and His future reign on earth, recognizing that His kingdom is coming. Those who fear Him are always looking forward to His coming, and we choose to proclaim His love! Just as the angels from the realms of glory proclaimed Messiah’s birth, we invite both our fellow believers and those who don’t know Him to come and have a life-changing experience with Christ. It’s Christmas! And that’s what Christmas is for!

But worshiping Christ involves not only proclamation and celebration, it also involves dedication and surrender. We humbly approach our Lord and Master and say, “Come, Thou long-expected Jesus! I treasure you above all else. Here’s my life. Speak what is true.” We listen to His Word not to figure out what rules to follow but to truly behold our Savior, with open hearts, ready to follow Him in obedience. After all, He SHALL reign forevermore! So, come, all ye faithful. Join us this Sunday morning at 10:30 to worship Christ, the newborn King.
