Our Disciple Now weekend was a success! We had sixteen students who were challenged to Renew their lives daily. A big thank you to Shane Burlison and the band for leading worship, and to Jeff Buell for speaking the truth and life of Scripture to the students. We had the opportunity to serve at HOPE Farm, and we look forward to partnering with them more. Some students led and challenged their peers to focus on God. One student led others in prayer just before they went to bed. As Pastor Chris shared, the time to pray is now, more than ever. Students have entered their daily routines which place them in the direct path of everything that can and will distract them from God and His Word. Pray for the students to have renewed hearts, minds, souls, and strength (Mark 12:30). They need the mental and physical strength to “stand against the schemes of the devil” (Ephesians 6:11). We are so thankful for all the SHBC adults who point these students to Jesus regularly, along with those who made this weekend possible: Steven and Andrea Frailey, Alyssa Cavitt, Lisa Nanney, Daniel and Erin Robinson, Tiffany Carroll, Chip Gardiner, Aaron Kenagy, Doug and Dee Ford, Donna Terry, Mike Burgess, Chad Kornegay, Jerry Hawn, Amy Dinwiddie, Erin Wright, and all who prayed for the students and leaders, THANK YOU for giving of your time, talents, and resources!
