Scripture is Living and Active

“The Word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow;
it judges the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

              Hebrews 4:12

Because Scripture is living and active, it still speaks to us today. We can never get to the end of it. We will never know all that there is to know about the Bible. There’s always more to experience and learn, the adventure goes on an on.

The children of South Hills are chronologically studying the Bible on Sunday mornings as well as Wednesday nights. This past Wednesday the 3rd-6th graders finished their journey through the Old Testament. I am so proud of each and every one of them for their participation, enthusiasm, and devotion to studying God’s Word.

Many of them can recite the books of the Old and New Testament, and answer questions like “Why did Moses build a brass serpent on a pole, what lessons did Samson learn about the power of physical strength versus spiritual strength, what did King Solomon build, and how was Esther able to save the lives of her people?”

Teaching and discipling these young hearts and minds is a joy and a privilege that I do not take lightly. I thank God for each opportunity He has given me to share His Word. Maybe He is calling you to do the same. Will you pray and ask God how He can use you this day, and in the days to come, to share the message of His love and redemption with those around you?

Show us Lord, how we can be of service to you and further your eternal kingdom.
