His Mercy Is More

South Hills Church Family,

Happy New Year! I’m going to start featuring new songs we sing in my newsletter articles this year. The first song we will teach this year is called, “His Mercy Is More” by Matt Boswell and Matt Papa. This Sunday, as Chris begins his new sermon series, “Let’s Grow” we will recall that all of our endeavors for the Kingdom are based on His grace.

The song lyrics are…

What love could remember
no wrongs we have done
Omniscient all knowing He counts not their sum
Thrown into a sea without bottom or shore
Our sins they are many His mercy is more

Praise the Lord His mercy is more
Stronger than darkness new every morn
Our sins they are many His mercy is more

What patience would wait as we constantly roam
What Father so tender is calling us home
He welcomes the weakest the vilest the poor
Our sins they are many His mercy is more

What riches of kindness He lavished on us
His blood was the payment His life was the cost
We stood 'neath a debt we could never afford
Our sins they are many His mercy is more

Just think about this: the God who knows everything chooses not to count our sins against us. His love is so powerful and constant that there is no sin or sinner so awful that His grace does not exceed. His mercy was shown in payment of our debt with his life on the cross. May this be our perspective as we gather together to praise Him, and live our praise every day and everywhere we go.
