What an amazing day of worship! In Small Group, the students studied that a commitment to Christ would naturally push us to encourage others to have a relationship with Christ. We entered worship and celebrated with Cade and Ralph as they were baptized, and Pastor Chris led us in a study of Ephesians 2:8-10. As we grow in our relationship with God, we grow in grace. When we grow in grace, as the Church, then SHBC will grow.
The Chili Cook-Off Youth Fundraiser was not only a success, but also a great time of food, fun, and fellowship. To the students and parents, thank you for your hard work in setting up tables, working in the kitchen to organize desserts, organizing chili, and cleaning up. Church family, thank you for your generosity by cooking chili, and donating to Camp! We raised $542! Congrats to our 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place Winners: Jenny Marriott, Jewel Mullen, and Cindy Frailey.
Disciple Now (DNow) is our next Student Ministry event on the calendar. Please be in prayer for this event on February 23-25 as the students, leaders, speaker, and worship band focus on what it means to RENEW our lives according to Mark 12:30, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.” We will have main sessions on Friday night, Saturday morning, and Saturday night. The small group sessions will be in the host homes. On Saturday afternoon, we will divide our time between service projects and recreation. How can I help, you ask? We need cooks for Saturday (lunch and dinner), we need one more host home for guys and prayer. Please contact me if you would like to help with DNow!
