The Lion and the Lamb

Church Family,

“Then one of the elders said to me, ‘Look! The Lion from the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has been victorious so that He may open the scroll and its seven seals.’ Then I saw One like a slaughtered lamb standing between the throne and the four living creatures and among the elders.” (Revelation 5:5-6, HCSB)

I don’t often take the newsletter article to share with you about a new song, but I wanted to do so this time because I’m so very excited about the content of this one! There are good songs about God being like a Lion and other songs about how He is the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. The song our Worship Choir will teach you this Sunday, entitled “The Lion and the Lamb,” expresses both aspects of God. Just as John encountered this Lion/Lamb in his vision, as we worship God, we must remember that He is both wild and powerful on one hand and sacrificial and gentle on the other. The words to the chorus are as follows…
Our God is the Lion, The Lion of Judah He's roaring with power, And fighting our battles And every knee will bow before Him
Our God is the Lamb, The Lamb that was slain For the sin of the world His blood breaks the chains Every knee will bow before The Lion and the Lamb

It was especially fun to re-write the bridge with the Worship Choir on Wednesday. Instead of repeating the same few words six times, for the Bridge, we unleashed our creative juices and added another dimension to this meaningful worship song. Don’t hesitate to listen to it on YouTube or Spotify before this Sunday. I pray that it brings meaning to your moment-bymoment walk with the Lord, as it has mine
