Ukraine Bound

I am so grateful for the ways that my SHBC Family has supported and partnered with me in the ministry work as Worship & Discipleship Pastor. Beyond this, though, you have supported my work as husband and father, especially through the difficult days of Theresa’s fight against colon cancer. Today, I am asking for your support in a very specific way.

I'm heading back to Ukraine with the Singing Men of Texas this April 17-28. That’s just four weeks from today! Our purpose is to sing the good news of Jesus alongside a message from Michael Gott (who has a year-round English-Teaching ministry in Ukraine). These concerts have the explicit intent of providing Ukrainian Christians with the opportunity to pursue disciple-making opportunities with non-believers, which they are already preparing for in houses of worship in each city we will attend. Already, this team has sung the gospel to 44,000 people in Ukraine over four mission projects, seeing thousands register a sincere commitment to follow Christ. Partnering with the Ukrainian Baptist Union has allowed us to know which cities are most likely to have churches prepare for and follow up after our gospel presentations.

Please pray for our mission team to faithfully and effectively do the work we have been called to do, for God to move in the hearts of all who hear, for the Ukrainian believers who will be coming alongside those who respond as mentors and disciplers, and for Theresa, Esther, and Ethan in my absence. Before I leave, I will provide an itinerary and prayer guide. I look forward to sharing all that God has done when I return, but you will also be able to follow our progress through a blog at www.smonct.org/ukraine-2017 and I will share pictures and some details on Facebook.
