Unity in the Body

Yesterday was another great day of worship at South Hills Baptist Church as we entered week two of our church-wide series “I Am a Church Member.” There has been a lot of excitement leading up to this series and now we are experiencing even more excitement as God is teaching us how to be effective, Biblical church members. We purchased more books for Sunday and we ran out again, so we now have additional copies for those who have not gotten one yet. You can stop by the office sometime this week and pick one up, or grab one next Sunday morning.

The focus of chapter two this week is unity and how each one of us needs to exhibit Christ-like character in all we do in hopes of remaining unified. As we did Sunday, our Small Groups will review the sermon, discuss chapter two of the book, and focus on Biblical passages related to unity. I loved seeing so many attend our Wednesday night discussion group as well as Small Groups on Sunday. If you are not yet connected to a Small Group join us this Sunday morning and we will help you find the right class.

I want to say a very special “thank you” to all of our Small Group leaders who are supportive in helping lead this series each week. God is certainly blessing your efforts in adapting from your typical material and routine in order to help all of us engage this material together.

I am hearing great testimonies from members and guests of all ages about the various ways God is speaking to their hearts and challenging them in their faith. As I continue to pray for God’s guidance to lead us in this season of renewal, join me in praying for one another and our church. God is already at work in so many ways here at South Hills Baptist Church, but I truly believe the best is yet to come.
