What Prompts Your Worship?
What prompts your worship? What catches your heart off guard and points you to Jesus? What thoughts about God interrupt your daily life and set you on a path toward praise? What truths lead you to express your love and gratitude for Jesus in obedience?
The truth that God creates, sustains, and saves is a common theme of the songs we sing in worship. The new worship song, “So Will I,” is a striking, poem-like anthem focusing on those three truths. Yet this song also calls us to turn our adoration into action: singing, obeying, exalting, and surrendering. I hope, as we introduce and sing this song soon, it will prompt us to worship Him in Spirit and Truth. Here are a few meaningful stanzas of this song…
I can see Your heart in everything You've made
Every burning star a signal fire of grace
If creation sings Your praises so will I
I can see Your heart in everything You say
Every painted sky a canvas of Your grace
If creation still obeys You so will I
If the stars were made to worship so will I
If the mountains bow in reverence so will I
If the oceans roar Your greatness so will I
For if everything exists to lift You high so will I
I can see Your heart in everything You've done
Every part designed in a work of art called love
If You gladly chose surrender so will I
I can see Your heart eight billion different ways
Every precious one a child You died to save
If You gave Your life to love them so will I
My prayer is that we will let the word of Christ dwell in us richly by teaching and admonishing each other through psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, like “So Will I.” You can find this and all the other songs we sing on the Worship Ministry page of our website in either a YouTube list or a Spotify list - www.southhillsbc.org/worship-arts.
